Whole Heart…

It’s What We All Must Have…

Praise ye the LORD. I will praise the LORD with my whole heart, in the assembly of the upright, and in the congregation. (Ps 111:1)

Ps 139:23-24:

Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts: (Ps 139:23)
And see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting. (Ps 139:24)

The song below, Whole Heart, moved me because it’s all about the heart. At 79 years of age, Vivian Lee James still has an amazing God-given voice.

The song speaks to the one problem mankind has, and needs to resolve: the unregenerated heart.

Jer 17:9-10:

The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it? (Jer 17:9)
I the LORD search the heart, I try the reins, even to give every man according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings. (Jer 17:10)

Whole Heart | Vivian Lee James, Stephen McWhirter, Curt Vernon | Lyrics:

I believe this is the reason Jesus came into the world:

To give us all the opportunity to lay hold of true salvation via the strait gate and narrow way of Jesus, and to find eternal life at the end of this pathway.

From both the Old and New Testaments:

To open the blind eyes, to bring out the prisoners from the prison, and them that sit in darkness out of the prison house. (Isa 42:7)

And I will bring the blind by a way that they knew not; I will lead them in paths that they have not known: I will make darkness light before them, and crooked things straight. These things will I do unto them, and not forsake them. (Isa 42:16)

Isa 61:1-2:

The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me; because the LORD hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound; (Isa 61:1)
To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn; (Isa 61:2)

Luke 4:18-19:

The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, (Luke 4:18)
To preach the acceptable year of the Lord. (Luke 4:19)

And needed not that any should testify of man: for he knew what was in man. (John 2:25)

It is that we do not have the Divine Agape Love of God within our hearts which we lost at the fall of mankind, in the Garden of Eden.

We need to be reconciled back to God via a new heart at the revelation of Jesus Christ and rebirth.

2Cor 5:18-20:

And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation; (2Cor 5:18)
To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation. (2Cor 5:19)
Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ’s stead, be ye reconciled to God. (2Cor 5:20)

Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ; (1Pet 1:13)

But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the LORD, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people. (Jer 31:33)

For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people: (Heb 8:10)

Everything I am and all I’m not
You can have it all every part
It feels like it’s not enough
But all of me is all you want

So I give you my whole, whole heart
Lord I give you my whole, whole heart
I give you my whole, whole heart
My whole heart, my whole heart

Everywhere I’ve been and where I’ll go
I’ll walk with you down life’s narrow road
It feels like it’s not enough
But all of me is all you want

So I give you my whole, whole heart
Lord I give you my whole, whole heart
I give you my whole, whole heart
My whole heart, my whole heart

Your word says you will never leave
To the very end you’ll be with me
It feels like you gave too much
But on the cross you showed your love

And you gave me Your whole, whole heart
Lord you gave me Your whole, whole heart
You gave me Your whole, whole heart
Your whole heart, Your whole heart

So I give you my whole, whole heart
I give you my whole, whole heart
Lord I give you my whole, whole heart
My whole heart, my whole heart

Songwriter Stephen McWhirter’s description of Whole Heart:

“This will forever be one of my favorite worship moments! Vivian Lee James is 79 years old and loves JESUS with her WHOLE HEART. I was honored to write and record this song with her and my friend Curt Vernon. Vivian was a singer and recording artist in New York over 6 decades ago, performing in such places as the Apollo, but now she sings for JESUS. She is one of the most joyful people I have ever met!”

Jesus says He will not forsake us:

Matt 28:19-20:

Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: (Matt 28:19)
Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen. (Matt 28:20)

Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ; (Titus 2:13)

Rev 22:20-21:

He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus. (Rev 22:20)
The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen. THE END (Rev 22:21)
