Everything…

Time-Watches

…in its Appointed Time

“Everything in its appointed time”: Before becoming a Christian I always thought this was true about the world, and then found confirmations of it in the Holy Bible. From our birth, to our death and everything in between:

Is any thing too hard for the LORD? At the time appointed I will return unto thee, according to the time of life, and Sarah shall have a son. (Gen 18:14)

And the LORD appointed a set time, saying, To morrow the LORD shall do this thing in the land. (Exod 9:5)

Is there not an appointed time to man upon earth? are not his days also like the days of an hireling? (Job 7:1)

If a man die, shall he live again? all the days of my appointed time will I wait, till my change come. (Job 14:14)

To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven: (Eccl 3:1)

A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted; (Eccl 3:2)

For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry. (Hab 2:3)

Reminds me of another life lesson in patience; nothing happens until it is meant to happen.

I waited almost seventy years for the love of my (earthly) life to be put in my path and it has been worth every minute of the wait.

And I continue to wait—with nothing to be compared to it—for the love of my (Heavenly) life to appear, and trust for that to happen shortly.

That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ: (1Pet 1:7)

And the God of peace shall bruise Satan under your feet shortly. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. Amen. (Rom 16:20)

Thank you Lord Jesus. Thank you, thank you, thank you, for your longsuffering and patience toward me. And not only for this, but for every lesson you have taught me—and continue to teach me—as I walk along this narrow way.

Whoso loveth instruction loveth knowledge: but he that hateth reproof is brutish. (Prov 12:1)

  1. Lamentations 3

17 And thou hast removed my soul far off from peace: I forgot prosperity.

18 And I said, My strength and my hope is perished from the Lord:

19 Remembering mine affliction and my misery, the wormwood and the gall.

20 My soul hath them still in remembrance, and is humbled in me.

21 This I recall to my mind, therefore have I hope.

22 It is of the Lord’s mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not.

23 They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.

24 The Lord is my portion, saith my soul; therefore will I hope in him.

25 The Lord is good unto them that wait for him, to the soul that seeketh him.

26 It is good that a man should both hope and quietly wait for the salvation of the Lord.

    1. God bless you Jerome. Thank you for the beautiful contribution…

Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man. (Eccl 12:13)
For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil. (Eccl 12:14)
