Jesus said: He that Followeth Me…

…Shall Not Walk in Darkness

Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life. (John 8:12)

When I first became a Christian, I had practically no understanding of what the Bible teaches. I knew God existed and Jesus Christ was His Son; but beyond that, I was relatively clueless.

It was many months before I came to realize that these things called “Salvation” and “being Born Again” were related to bearing our own personal cross.

I had only come near a church in passing, if someone I knew got married or died.

Up until that time, I never related music to the word of God, except hymns of course. But now, when I hear certain songs, Scripture just floods in.

And so it is, once again, with this song called “Passenger”.

I immediately thought about what Jesus said in many places about following Him, and how it is directly related to true, Biblical Salvation.

I truly enjoyed putting this video together, and I pray you will enjoy watching it and listening to it while considering all of the commands of our Lord and Saviour, Christ Jesus…

And he that taketh not his cross, and followeth after me, is not worthy of me. (Matt 10:38)

Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me. (Matt 16:24)

Then Jesus beholding him loved him, and said unto him, One thing thou lackest: go thy way, sell whatsoever thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, take up the cross, and follow me. (Mark 10:21)

And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me. (Luke 9:23)

If any man serve me, let him follow me; and where I am, there shall also my servant be: if any man serve me, him will my Father honour. (John 12:26)

May God bless all fellow passengers with wisdom and understanding. Amen. ~ WG

PASSENGER LYRICS

by Candice Glover

Sharp as glass from a broken bottle
Loud as echoes in an open room
You can’t see it but you sure can feel it
Like shadows coming over you

As clear as the ocean water
As bright as the summer’s blue
You put my dreams in color
I can’t lie cause you’re my truth

And my everything is you
You are my everything
You give me the melody
I sing what you give to me

I’ll be your passenger
I’ll go where you want me to
I’ll let you navigate
Just let me ride with you

I’ll be your passenger
I’ll go where you wanna go
If you show me the way
Just lead and I’ll follow
I’ll follow
I’ll follow

On the days when I’m feeling lonely
Could you shower me with your tears?
And paint a rainbow in the sky just for me
Just to let me know you’re still there

Your love is my religion
That’s the only thing that I believe
It’s never hard to make this decision
Everywhere I go I take you with me

My everything is you
You are my everything
You give me the melody
I sing what you give to me

O, oh…
Yea, yea
O, oh, Yea…
O, oh…

I’ll be your passenger
I’ll go where you want me to
I’ll let you navigate
Just let me ride with you

I’ll be your passenger
I’ll go where you wanna go
If you show me the way
Just lead and I’ll follow

Wherever you go I’ll follow you, O…oh
I’ll be your passenger
I’ll do anything to follow you
Wherever you go
I’ll be your passenger, yea yea

I’ll close my eyes and I’ll trust you
Take me wherever you want me to go
And I’ll go there
I’ll go there
Even where the eyes can’t see
As long as you’re with me

I’ll be your passenger
I’ll go where you want me to
I’ll let you navigate
Just let me ride with you

I’ll be your passenger
I’ll go where you wanna go
If you show me the way
Just lead and I’ll follow
